ELCS offers Academic Research Writing Course

Course Focus:  The interrelated skills of writing and reasoning are essential skills for academic success. Publication in a highly regarded, peer reviewed journal is often the goal of researchers; however, if the writer is unable to communicate coherently and concisely then the research is lost. Conciseness, coherence, and clarity characterize good writing. The focus of this course is aimed at researchers in any discipline who wish to write a research paper in English. The course is designed for postgraduate students whose first language is not English, and intended for both inexperienced and experienced writers. Furthermore, as most postgraduate students are required to deliver oral presentations, time will be allocated for oral presentation skills.
