Details of English Tests and their Websites

     The answer is "yes" for our M.Sc. students.  Before being allowed to graduate, all of you need proof of having reached a certain level either TOEFL iBT test (61), TOEFL ITP/PBT test (500), TOEIC (600), IELTS (5.0), CU-TEP 60, or TETET test (4.0).  Which test should you choose? 
     Well, so many points you need to take into your consideration: money, time, conveniences, level of your English, your particular reason for taking the test, characteristics of the test, etc. Here are some brief guidelines:

     1.  TOEFL (Internet-based) or TOEFL (IBT)

          Test consists of four sections: Listening, Structure, Reading, and Writing.  Currently (March 2014), it costs US$ 180. You can take the test at the TOEFL iBT test center, 6th Floor, Maneeya Center North, Pleonjit, Pathumwan.       2.  ITP (Institutional Testing Program)-TOEFL (Paper-based)

          SIT accepts the ITP-TOEFL Test result administered at SIT, KMUTT ONLY.        

          Test consists of three sections: Listening, Structure, and Reading. Currently (March 2014), it costs 1,050 Baht. You can take the test at the School of IT, KMUTT. The test is normally conducted every two months and you'll know the result within a week or so.       3.  Redesigned TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication)

           Test is designed to meet the need for a measure of English language skills outside of the traditional academic context, consists of two sections: Listening and Reading (+Grammar).

Currently (March 2014), the Institutional TOEIC Test costs 1,500 Baht. It is conducted twice a day (9.00-11.30 hrs. and 13.00-15.30 hrs.) from Mon.-Sat. For the Public Redesigned TOEIC Test, it costs 1,800 Baht. It will be conducted on a monthly basis.      4.  IELTS

          IELTS assesses the candidates' ability to use English effectively in the four key language skill areas - lisening, reading, writing and speaking as well as their knowledge of grammar and vocabulary in the context of language use. Currently, (March 2014), it costs 6,000 Baht per test for online registration and 6,300 Baht per test for in person registratio.You can take the test at British Council Siam Square.       5. CU-TEP

           Test of English Proficiency of Chulalongkorn University measures your ability to use English for academic purposes in reading, writing, listening and speaking. The test consists of three parts: listening, reading and writing. Currently, (March 2014), it costs 700 Baht per test. You can take the test at Chulalongkorn University Academic Testing Center.       6. TETET

              Test of English for Thai Engineers and Technologists (TETET) is a standardized test designed to measure the English skills needed by engineers and technologists in workplace environments in Thailand. The test measures the reading, writing, listening and speaking skills needed in engineering and technical workplace environments. Currently, (April 2013), it costs 700 Baht per test.
